StrategyHub – Privacy, Data & Cookies

Last updated: 11 December 2025

StrategyHub is used by founder-led SMEs and boards making serious decisions about how they run and grow their businesses. This page explains, in plain English, how we handle your data and how we use cookies and similar technologies.

If anything on this page is unclear, please contact us – we’d rather explain it than hide behind legal jargon.

1. Who we are

StrategyHub is a service provided by Accural Limited (“we”, “us” or “our”), a company registered in England and Wales with company number 11691842 and registered office at 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom.

For the purposes of UK data protection law (including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), Accural Limited is the “data controller” in respect of the personal data described in this notice.

In this notice, “StrategyHub” refers to the StrategyHub marketing site at strategyhub.co.uk, the StrategyHub tools at tools.strategyhub.co.uk, and related services operated by Accural Limited.

You can contact us about privacy or data questions at:

2. What this notice covers

This notice applies to:

  • The StrategyHub marketing site at strategyhub.co.uk, where you read about the tools, philosophy and services
  • The StrategyHub tools at tools.strategyhub.co.uk, where you complete questionnaires and receive diagnostics
  • Related contact and communication channels (for example, email and any booking/scheduling tools we use)

It explains:

  • What personal data we collect
  • How we use it and on what legal bases
  • How long we keep it
  • Who we share it with
  • How cookies and analytics work on our sites
  • Your rights and how to exercise them

3. The data we collect

We collect different types of data depending on how you interact with StrategyHub.

3.1 Website visits and basic analytics

When you visit strategyhub.co.uk, we collect limited information about your visit, such as:

  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Referring website (if any)
  • Your approximate location (e.g. country or region)
  • Browser and device type

We collect this via a privacy-friendly analytics tool (currently Plausible), which we configure so that it does not use tracking cookies or build advertising profiles.

We do not use Google Analytics or similar advertising-based analytics tools, and we do not use technologies on this site that are intended to track your browsing activity across other websites for advertising purposes.

3.2 Newsletter and content signups

If you choose to sign up for updates or a newsletter, we collect:

  • Your email address
  • Your name (if you choose to provide it)
  • The fact that you subscribed to receive content from StrategyHub

We may also record which emails you open and which links you click, to understand which topics are useful and to improve what we send.

3.3 Contact and enquiries

If you contact us (for example via a contact form or email), we collect:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Any other information you choose to include in your message

We use this to respond to your enquiry and keep a record of our communication.

3.4 Diagnostic tools and questionnaires

When you use the StrategyHub tools on tools.strategyhub.co.uk, we collect the information you provide in the questionnaires. This may include:

  • High-level financial information and ranges
  • Information about your team, structure and operations
  • Information about your marketing setup and funnels
  • Information about founder dependency and decision-making

We design these tools to focus on business characteristics, not your personal life. We do not ask for:

  • Personal banking credentials
  • Consumer credit card numbers
  • National Insurance numbers
  • Sensitive personal data about health, religion or similar special categories

If you choose to enter personal information in free-text fields, that is up to you, but it is not required for the tools to work.

3.5 Client engagements

If you work with us directly (for example via a “Work With Me” engagement), we will also collect and process:

  • Basic contact details for you and relevant members of your team
  • Engagement-related information (e.g. call notes, working documents)
  • Business performance data you share with us as part of the engagement

This is covered by this notice and by any specific engagement letter or contract we agree with you.

We rely on different lawful bases under UK GDPR depending on the activity.

4.1 Operating and improving the StrategyHub marketing site

We use data about visits and page views to:

  • Keep the StrategyHub marketing site secure and performing well
  • Understand which pages and tools are most useful
  • Improve content and navigation over time

Legal basis: our legitimate interests in running a secure, effective website and understanding how it is used.

4.2 Sending you content and updates

If you subscribe to our newsletter or updates, we use your email address to send you:

  • StrategyHub content and articles
  • Occasional updates about tools and services
  • Notices about material changes to this policy or related terms

Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time (for example, by clicking “unsubscribe” in any email).

4.3 Responding to enquiries

If you contact us, we use your details to:

  • Respond to your question or request
  • Keep a record of our communications

Legal basis: our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and managing relationships, and in some cases steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract.

4.4 Running the diagnostic tools

We use your answers in the StrategyHub tools to:

  • Generate structured diagnostics and reports about your business using our proprietary scoring frameworks
  • Provide outputs such as scores, summary views of friction and practical next-step recommendations
  • In aggregate and anonymised form, understand common patterns and improve the tools.

We do not store separate copies of the reports or other outputs after they are generated, unless this is necessary for security purposes or to operate a paid feature you have chosen (for example, saved results or historical comparisons).

At present, the tools use deterministic, rules-based logic, not AI models. We do not use your responses to train public AI models. We do not make decisions about you that are based solely on automated processing where those decisions have legal or similarly significant effects.

Legal basis:

  • Our legitimate interests in providing diagnostic tools to founders and improving them over time; and
  • Where you access paid or structured services, performance of a contract with you.

We do not use your diagnostic responses to build personal advertising profiles or sell your data to third parties.

4.5 Client engagements and advisory work

For direct advisory work and “Work With Me” engagements, we use your data to:

  • Set up, manage and deliver the engagement
  • Invoice, receive payment and keep accounting records
  • Follow up on agreed actions and provide support

Legal basis: performance of a contract and our legitimate interests in managing our business, plus any legal obligations relating to tax and accounting.

5. Cookies and tracking

We keep cookies and tracking to a minimum.

5.1 What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to:

  • Keep you logged in
  • Remember preferences
  • Help the site function securely and reliably

Some sites also use cookies to track people for advertising. We do not do that.

5.2 Essential cookies

Essential cookies are those that are strictly necessary for the site and tools to work properly. For example, they may be used to:

  • Keep your session active while you move between pages
  • Help prevent fraudulent or malicious activity
  • Operate membership features in Ghost (if enabled)
  • Keep a diagnostic session active while you work through a questionnaire

Without these cookies, the StrategyHub marketing site or tools may not function correctly. Because they are essential, they are always on.

5.3 Analytics (privacy-friendly)

We use a privacy-friendly analytics tool (such as Plausible) to understand, in aggregate, how the StrategyHub marketing site is used. This helps us answer questions like:

  • How many people visit the site?
  • Which pages and tools are most viewed?
  • Where do visitors drop off?

This analytics tool is designed to be lightweight and privacy-conscious. It does not:

  • Use tracking cookies
  • Track you across different websites
  • Build advertising profiles

We see aggregate patterns and basic usage metrics, not detailed individual profiles.

5.4 No advertising pixels

As at the date of this notice, we do not use:

  • Google Analytics
  • Facebook/Meta, LinkedIn or other advertising pixels
  • Behavioural retargeting tags

If we decide to use any of these in the future, we will:

  • Update this notice to explain exactly what we are using and why; and
  • Implement any consent mechanisms required by UK law before setting non-essential cookies or similar technologies.

5.5 Cookies on the tools

On tools.strategyhub.co.uk, we may use essential cookies or similar technologies to:

  • Keep your diagnostic session active while you complete a questionnaire
  • Help ensure the tools remain reliable and secure
  • In aggregate, understand how many people start and complete a diagnostic

These are not used to track you across the wider web or to build advertising profiles.

5.6 Managing cookies in your browser

You can control cookies at any time by changing your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • Block cookies entirely
  • Delete cookies that have already been set
  • Set preferences for different sites

If you block essential cookies, some parts of the StrategyHub marketing site or tools may not work as intended.

6. How we store and secure your data

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your data secure, including:

  • Limiting access to systems and data to people who need it for their role
  • Using reputable hosting and infrastructure providers
  • Using encryption in transit (HTTPS) and, where appropriate, at rest

We also use trusted third-party service providers (for example, for hosting, analytics, email delivery and scheduling). They act as data processors and may only process your data in accordance with our instructions and applicable law.

7. How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, including to:

  • Operate and improve the StrategyHub marketing site and tools
  • Maintain records of our communications and engagements
  • Comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations

Retention periods vary depending on the type of data and context. For example:

  • Analytics data is kept only in aggregate or pseudonymous form
  • Newsletter subscription data is kept while you remain subscribed (and for a short period after you unsubscribe, to maintain suppression lists)
  • Diagnostic data may be kept for as long as we make the relevant tool available and you may reasonably wish to revisit your results, and for a further period of up to six years afterwards where needed for record-keeping or to improve the tools in aggregate. We may retain aggregated or anonymised diagnostic data, which does not identify you, for longer.
  • Engagement-related records may be kept for the duration of the engagement and for up to six years afterwards, for example to comply with tax and accounting requirements and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

If you’d like more detail about retention for a specific type of data, please contact us.

8. Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share your data with:

  • Service providers who help us run the StrategyHub marketing site and tools (for example, hosting, analytics, email delivery, scheduling and storage providers)
  • Professional advisors (for example, accountants or lawyers) where necessary
  • Authorities or regulators where we are legally required to do so

Where we use service providers, they are bound by contracts that require them to:

  • Only process your data for the purposes we specify
  • Keep it secure
  • Comply with applicable data protection laws

9. International transfers

Some of our service providers may be located outside the UK.

Where this results in a transfer of personal data outside the UK, we will take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as:

  • UK adequacy regulations, or
  • Standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards

You can contact us if you would like more information about international transfers relating to your data.

10. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have several rights in relation to your personal data, including the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erase your data in certain circumstances
  • Restrict or object to certain types of processing
  • Withdraw consent where we rely on consent
  • Data portability in some circumstances (receive your data in a structured, commonly used format)

These rights are subject to some conditions and exemptions.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in section 1.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how we handle your data:

We would appreciate the chance to address your concerns directly before you contact the ICO, so please consider contacting us first.

11. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice from time to time, for example if:

  • We introduce new tools or features
  • We start using new service providers
  • The law or regulatory guidance changes

When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, highlight the changes on the site.
